We have all heard and even used the phrase “Stop and smell the roses” at some time in our lives. Did you know it’s actually a great remedy and treatment to promote healing? Flowers, plants and spices emit a pleasant odor and when incorporated in a beauty routine the fragrances provide a way to improve emotional, physical and spiritual well-being. The simple use of aromatherapy beautifies the skin’s complexion, stimulates creativity, reduces stress, helps induce sleep as well as heal burns and reduce scarring. The benefits are similar to a steam facial. For tips on how to create your own steam facial, read my previous post: It’s Getting a Little Steamy.
One of the easiest and most relaxing ways to enjoy aromatherapy is in a bathtub full of warm water. Adding a few drops of lavender or chamomile at the end of a long day is just enough to slip in, deeply breathe in the aroma and relax.
